More than a simple movie theatre, MK2 Library is a true cultural center, where literature, music and video are all focused on cinema. This venture has hosted "Himalayas, on the footsteps of Alexandra-Néel", a multifaceted exhibition offering a true journey through Himalaya, through large-scale photographs, a documentary movie, archive images and artistic workshops.

Presented in an authentic Himalayan decor, these photos reflect the grandeur of these "rooftops of the world" captured by Priscilla Telmon during her 5000 km expedition on foot. They are alongside archive images of the female explorer Alexandra David-Néel. On week-ends, the artist's studio of Dorjee Sangpo and Sonam Dorjee was open to the public to introduce the living traditions of calligraphy and Tibetan thangkas to the public.

Festival of documentary films on Himalayan exploration and culture - each Saturday during March - followed by a discussion with the directors.

At the same time, at Quai Branly Museum, as part of the  DANS LE BLANC DES YEUX exhibition, showing primitive Nepal masks ( 9 September 2010 - 9 January 2011), the Quai Branly Museum invited the public to an exceptional week on the theme of Himalaya during Christmas season.

The program offered a vast diversity of discoveries:  Hilamayan songs and dances and Tibetan rituals, calligraphy workshop and reading-show, discussion about the explorer Alexandra David-Néel,... The museum also offered a series of movies including all-times classics (Kundun, Himalaya, the Childhood of an Chief) and films never distributed in France before (Richard Gere is my Hero), along with activities dedicated to the young public:  an adventure at the pursuit of the Yeti, set-up in the garden, expedition-visits... offering them the opportunity to discover the mysteries and traditions of the "rooftop of the world".
